Abstract

EXPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH AUGUST 2009 REACHES US $ 116.05 MILLION


  •      In August 2009 the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Board (FOB) price reached US $ 116.05 million, with tin exports of US $ 100.30 million and non tin of US $ 15.75 million.
  •      In the January-August 2009 period, tin exports to Singapore reached US $ 585.21 million or 90.28 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 36.75 million (5.67 percent), China US $ 10, 97 million (1.87 percent), Japan US $ 5.01 million (0.86 percent) and Republic of Korea US $ 4.55 million (0.78 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 99.11 percent of the total tin exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •      During the period of January-August 2009, all non-tin exported goods category experienced a decrease in export value compared to the same period in the previous year except for the fishery and processed products category (HS 03) which increased by 24.82 percent from US $ 5.19 million to US $ 6.48 million. The five main categories of export commodities of Bangka Belitung Islands which experienced export decline were coffee, tea and spices (68.24 percent), followed by metal ore and metal scraps (54.08 percent), rubber and rubber goods (38, 13 percent), animal or vegetable oils and fats (28.08 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stone (20.61 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports to Thailand in cumulative January-August 2009 reached the largest amount of US $ 37.43 million or contributed the most with 20.93 percent of total non-tin exports followed by Malaysia US $ 32.42 million (18.13 percent) , Australia amounted to US $ 31.65 million (17.70 percent), China US $ 28.99 million (16.22 percent), Vietnam US $ 14.45 million (8.08 percent), Singapore US $ 11.75 Million (6.57 percent), India US $ 10.58 million (5.92 percent) and UAE US $ 3.08 million (1.72 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 95.27 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.



IMPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH AUGUST 2009 APPLIES US $ 3.21 MILLION


  •      In August 2009 the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 3.21 million or decreased 8.36 percent compared to July 2009 which amounted to US $ 3.51 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decline of oil and gas imports by 85.06 percent from US $ 1.40 million to US $ 209.01 thousand.
  •      In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to August 2009, the sea transport category (HS 89) contributed the most with US $ 9.96 million (53.05 percent), followed by boiler and machine (HS 84) of US $ 5.30 million (28.21 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.17 million (6.25 percent), rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.48 million (2.55 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.42 million (2.23 percent) and ceramic products (HS 69) of US $ 0.23 million (1.24 percent). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 93.53 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •      In the period from January to August 2009, the five largest suppliers of imported goods were Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and China. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during January-August 2009 reached US $ 8.72 million or 34.48 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia amounting to US $ 4.84 million (19.13 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 4 , 79 million (18.96 percent), Singapore US $ 3.02 million (11.95 percent) and China US $ 2.64 million (10.44 percent). The contribution of the five countries reached 94.95 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
