EXPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH FEBRUARY 2009 REACHES US $ 124,5 MILLION


  •      In February 2009, the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Board (FOB) price reached US $ 124.5 million, with tin exports of US $ 113.6 million and non tin of US $ 10.9 million.
  •      In the January-February 2009 period, tin exports to Singapore reached US $ 152.4 million or 92.00 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 11.0 million (6.67 percent), Japan US $ 1, 1 million (0.73 percent) and the Republic of Korea US $ 1.1 million (0.72 percent).
  •      During the period of January-February 2009, the largest export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands was oil or animal / vegetable fats amounting to US $ 11.2 million (54.76 percent); Followed by coffee, tea and spices US $ 3.4 million (16.48 percent); Metal ore and metal scraps of US $ 2.2 million (10.87 percent); Fishery and processed products US $ 1.8 million (8.85 percent); Rubber and rubber goods of US $ 1.4 million (6.75 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones of US $ 0.5 million (2.26 percent). Non-tin exports to Malaysia in cumulative January-February 2009 reached the largest figure of US $ 6.0 million or contributed the most 29.49 percent to total non-tin exports followed by India at US $ 6.0 million (29.25 percent ), China US $ 3.0 million (14.68 percent), Singapore US $ 1.7 million (8.11 percent), Netherlands US $ 0.9 million (4.40 percent), Japan US $ 0.7 Million (3.27 percent), United Arab Emirates (UAE) US $ 0.5 million (2.23 percent) and Vietnam US $ 0.4 million (2.11 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 93.53 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

MONTH FEBRUARY 2009 REACHES US $ 2.6 MILLION


  •      During the period of January-February 2009 the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 5.7 million or down 45.94 percent compared to the same period in 2008 which amounted to US $ 10.6 million. The decline in the value of imports is caused by the decline in imports both oil and gas and non-oil. Oil and gas imports fell 86.21 percent from US $ 4.3 million to US $ 0.6 million, while non-oil and gas imports dropped 18.32 percent from US $ 6.3 million to US $ 5.1 million.
  •      In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to February 2009, the boiler and machine category (HS 84) contributed the most with US $ 2.1 million (40.75 percent), followed by sea transport (HS 89) of US $ 2.1 million (40.59 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 0.5 million (9.84 percent), rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0 , 2 million (4.75 percent), ceramic products (HS 69) of US $ 69.7 thousand (1.36 percent), Adhesives, enzymes (HS 35) of US $ 27.8 thousand (0.54 percent) , And electrical machinery / equipment (HS 85) of US $ 15.2 thousand (0.30 percent). The contribution of the seven categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 98.14 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •      In the period from January to February 2009, the five largest suppliers of imported goods were Thailand, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during January-February 2009 reached US $ 2.2 million or 39.24 percent of total imports, followed by China with US $ 1.4 million (23.89 percent), Singapore US $ 0 , 8 million (13.71 percent), Malaysia amounted to US $ 0.7 million (11.91 percent) and Vietnam amounted to US $ 0.6 million (10.38 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 99.14 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
