EXPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH JANUARY 2009 REACHES US $ 61.6 MILLION


  •      In January 2009 the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Board (FOB) price reached US $ 61.6 million, with tin exports of US $ 52.1 million and non tin amounting to US $ 9.5 million.
  •      In January 2009, tin exports to Singapore reached US $ 47.0 million or 90.28 percent of total tin exports followed by Malaysia US $ 5.1 million (9.72 percent).
  •      In January 2009, the largest commodity exports of Bangka Belitung Islands were the oil / animal / vegetable fats of U $ 6.3 million (66.24 percent), followed by coffee, tea and spices U $ 1.4 million (15.26 Percent), metal ore and U $ 0.8 million (8.67 percent) metal scraps, fishery products and processed U $ 0.8 million (8.03 percent) and rubber and rubber goods U $ 0.2 Million (1.79 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports to Malaysia reached the largest figure of US $ 4.3 million or contributed the most with 45.00 percent of total non-tin exports followed by India at US $ 2.5 million (26.44 percent), China US $ 0 , 8 million (8.67 percent), Netherlands US $ 0.6 million (6.10 percent), Singapore US $ 0.6 million (5.60 percent), Japan US $ 0.3 million (3.66 percent) ), Vietnam US $ 0.1 million (1.53 percent) and USA US $ 0.1 million (1.21 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 98.21 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

  •      In January 2009 the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 3.1 million or down 61.70 percent compared to January 2008 which amounted to US $ 8.2 million. The decline in the value of imports is caused by the decline in imports both oil and gas and non-oil. Oil and gas imports in January 2009 saw no realization of imports, while non-oil and gas imports decreased 39.24 percent from US $ 5.1 million to US $ 3.1 million.

  •      In January 2009, four countries supplying imported goods were Thailand, China, Singapore and Malaysia. The imports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand in January 2009 reached US $ 1.5 million or 47.83 percent of total imports, followed by China with US $ 1.2 million (39.18 percent), Singapore US $ 0.3 million (10.01 percent) and Malaysia amounted to US $ 93.0 thousand (2.97 percent).
