Abstract

EXPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH NOVEMBER 2009 REACHES US $ 105.58 MILLION


  •      In November 2009 the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Board (FOB) price reached US $ 105.58 million, with tin exports of US $ 93.69 million and non tin of US $ 11.89 million.
  •      In January-November 2009, tin exports to Singapore reached US $ 829.28 million or 91.09 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 44.30 million (4.87 percent), China US $ 12, 27 million (1.48 percent), Japan US $ 7.23 million (0.87 percent) and Republic of Korea US $ 4.81 million (0.58 percent). The contribution of the five countries reached 98.63 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     During the period of January-November 2009, all non-tin exported goods category experienced a decrease in export value compared to the same period of the previous year except the fish and fishery products category which increased by 10.31 percent from US $ 6.95 million to US $ 7.67 million . The five main commodities of export commodities of Bangka Belitung Islands which experienced export decline were coffee, tea and spices (65.86 percent), followed by metal ore and metal scraps (55.78 percent), rubber and rubber goods (33, 94 percent), salt, sulfur, soil and rock (29.67 percent), and animal or vegetable oils and fats (24.91 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports to Australia in cumulative January-November 2009 reached the largest number of US $ 55.85 million or contributed the most with 23.27 percent of total non-tin exports followed by Malaysia US $ 40.28 million (16.78 percent) , Thailand amounted to US $ 37.43 million (15.59 percent), China US $ 32.18 million (13.41 percent), Vietnam US $ 20.96 million (8.73 percent), India US $ 19.32 Million (8.05 percent), Singapore US $ 14.53 million (6.05 percent) and UAE US $ 4.40 million (1.83 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 93.72 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.



IMPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH NOVEMBER 2009 REACHES US $ 5.25 MILLION


  •      In November 2009 the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 5.25 million or down 35.00 percent compared to October 2009 which amounted to US $ 8.08 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decline of oil and gas imports by 81.89 percent from US $ 2.55 million to US $ 461.84 thousand and non-oil and gas imports decreased by 13.37 percent from US $ 5.53 million to US $ 4, 79 million.
  •      In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to November 2009, the sea transport category (HS 89) contributed the most with US $ 17.58 million (48.59 percent), followed by boiler and machine (HS 84) of US US $ 2.29 million (6.33 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.84 million (US $ 1.84 million) (5.10 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.97 million (2.69 percent) and rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.65 million (1, 81 percent). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 97.35 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •     In the period from January to November 2009, the five largest imported goods suppliers were Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and China. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during January-November 2009 reached US $ 16.38 million or 32.77 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia with US $ 10.90 million (21.79 percent), Singapore US $ 8 , 88 million (17.77 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 6 million (12.00 percent) and China US $ 5.18 million (10.36 percent). The contribution of the five countries reached 94.70 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
