MONTH MEI 2009 REACHES US $ 111.20 MILLION

In May 2009 the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Board (FOB) price reached US $ 111.20 million, with tin exports of US $ 92.01 million and non tin of US $ 19.18 million.

In the January-May 2009 period, tin exports to Singapore reached US $ 343.14 million or 91.38 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 18.65 million (4.97 percent), China US $ 6, 02 million (1.75 percent), Republic of Korea US $ 3.28 million (0.96 percent) and Japan US $ 2.49 million (0.73 percent).

During the period of January-May 2009, the largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands was oil or animal / vegetable fats of US $ 26.55 million (33.19 percent); Followed by rubber and rubber goods of US $ 8.06 million (10.07 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 6.32 million (7.90 percent); Fishery and processed products US $ 3.96 million (4.96 percent); Metal ore and metal scraps of US $ 3.75 million (4.69 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 2.63 million (3.28 percent).

Non-tin exports to China in cumulative January-May 2009 reached the largest figure of US $ 24.84 million or contributed the most with 31.06 percent of total non-tin exports followed by Malaysia at US $ 15.48 million (19.36 percent ), Australia US $ 10.35 million (12.95 percent), Singapore US $ 9.23 million (11.54 percent), Vietnam US $ 6.71 million (8.39 percent), India US $ 5.71 Million (7.14 percent), UAE US $ 2.51 million (3.13 percent) and Japan US $ 1.13 million (1.41 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 94.98 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

In May 2009 the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 5.78 million or up 24.97 percent compared to April 2009 which amounted to US $ 4.63 million. The increase in import value is due to the rise in imports of both oil and gas and non oil and gas. Oil and gas imports rose 23.88 percent from US $ 1.35 million to US $ 1.67 million, while non-oil and gas imports rose 25.42 percent from US $ 3.28 million to US $ 4.11 million.

In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to May 2009, the sea transport category (HS 89) contributed the most with US $ 8.09 million (61.37 percent), followed by boiler and machine (HS 84) of US $ 3.20 million (24.30 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 0.81 million (6.16 percent), rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.39 million (2.97 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.31 million (2.32 percent), ceramic products (HS 69) of US $ 0.15 million (1.14 Percent), and glass & glassware (HS 70) of US $ 33.02 thousand (0.25 percent). The contribution of the seven categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 98.51 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.

In the period from January to May 2009, the five largest suppliers of imported goods were Thailand, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Singapore. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during January - May 2009 reached US $ 6.91 million or 40.64 percent of total imports, followed by Vietnam at US $ 3.41 million (20.07 percent), China US $ 2 , 41 million (14.18 percent), Malaysia amounted to US $ 2.30 million (13.50 percent) and Singapore US $ 1.69 million (9.94 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 98.34 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
