Abstract
EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH MONTH 2011 REACHES US $ 247.8 MILLION
The export value from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in
March 2011 reached US $ 247.8 million (based on Free On Board price,
FOB), with tin exports of US $ 219.1 million and non tin of US $ 28.7
million.
Tin
as the largest export accounted for 79.3 percent of the total exports
of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January
to March 2011. The main tin export destination is Singapore which
reached US $ 378.1 million or 68.8 percent of total tin exports,
followed by Netherlands US $ 47 ,
8 million (8.7 percent), Malaysia US $ 31.2 million (5.7 percent),
Japan US $ 22.1 million (4.0 percent) and Taiwan US $ 19.4 million (3.5
percent). The contribution of the five countries reached 90.8 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
The
largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands Province
during January-March 2011 period was the oil / animal and vegetable fats
amounting to U $ 40.6 million (28.4 percent), followed by rubber and
rubber goods U $ 28.2 million (19.7 percent); Coffee, tea and spices U $ 4.2 million (2.9 percent); Metal ores and metal scraps of US $ 2.3 million (1.6 percent); Fishery
products and processed U $ 1.9 million (1.3 per cent) and salt, sulfur,
soil and stones US $ 1.2 million (0.8 per cent). The contribution of the six non-tin categories reached 54.8
percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
Non-tin
exports during the period of January-March 2011 to Australia reached
the largest amount of US $ 64.7 million or contributed the most with
45.2 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Singapore US $ 24.0
million (16.8 percent), China US
$ 19.9 million (13.9 percent), Malaysia US $ 13.9 million (9.7
percent), Bangladesh US $ 5.4 million (3.8 percent), Vietnam US $ 5.0
million (3.5 percent) And Japan US $ 3.1 million (2.2 percent). The contribution of the seven countries reached 95.1 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

MONTH MONTH 2011 REACHES US $ 5.4 MILLION
The value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in March
2011 reached US $ 5.4 million, up 91.8 percent compared to February 2011
which amounted to US $ 2.8 million.
The
cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during
the period of January-March 2011 reached US $ 9.3 million or down 67.5
percent over the same period of the previous year which amounted to US $
28.6 million. The
decline in the value of imports was caused by the decline of non-oil
and gas imports by 74.0 percent from US $ 26.3 million to US $ 6.8
million, while oil and gas imports increased by 5.1 percent from US $
2.4 million to US $ 2.5 million .
The
goods category that gives the largest contribution to total non-oil and
gas imports from January to March 2011 are marine and floating building
(HS 89) with contribution of US $ 3.1 million (45.9 percent), followed
by machineries / HS
84) of US $ 2.4 million (35.8 percent), fertilizer (HS 31) of US $ 0.6
million (9.2 percent), rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.3 million
(4.3 percent), articles of iron and steel (HS 73) of US $ 0.2 million
(3.1 percent) and machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.04
million (0.7 per cent ). The contribution of the six categories of non oil and gas goods reached 99.0 percent of total non oil and gas imports.
The
five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January
to March 2011 are Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Belgium. Import
Bangka Belitung Islands from Thailand during the period from January to
March 2011 reached the highest figures of US $ 3.5 million or 37.3
percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia amounted to US $ 2.2
million (24.1 percent), Singapore amounting to US $ 1 , 8 million (19.6 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 1.0 million (10.3 percent) and Belgium at US $ 0.6 million (6.7 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 97.9 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
