Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH NOVEMBER 2011 REACHES US $ 61.3 MILLION

  •     The export value from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in November 2011 reached US $ 61.3 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 39 million and non tin of US $ 22.4 million.
  •     Tin is the largest export of 74.0 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to November 2011. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 1,286.1 million or 69.7 percent of total tin exports, followed by Netherlands US $ 130.2 million (7.1 percent), Malaysia US $ 120.5 million (6.5 percent), Taiwan US $ 76 million (4.1 percent) and Japan US $ 64.3 million (3.5 percent).
  •     The main non-tin export commodity contributed by Bangka Belitung Islands Province during January-November 2011 based on 2-digit Harmonized System (HS) code is a group of oil or animal and vegetable fats of US $ 148.9 million (23 percent), followed by rubber and Rubber goods of US $ 79.5 million (12.3 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 18 million (2.8 percent); Fishery and processed products US $ 7.9 million (1.2 percent); Salt, sulfur, soil and stones of US $ 4.1 million (0.6 percent) and metal ores and metal scraps of US $ 3.5 million (0.5 percent).
  •     Non-tin exports during the period from January to November 2011 to Australia reached the largest amount of US $ 139.5 million, contributing 21.5 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Vietnam US $ 136 million (21 percent), Japan US $ 127 million 19.6 percent), Singapore US $ 79.9 million (12.3 percent), China US $ 67.8 million (10.5 percent), Malaysia US $ 67.5 million (10.4 percent) and India US $ 9 million 1.4 percent).

IMPORT PROVINCE BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH NOVEMBER 2011 REACHES US $ 1.81 MILLION

  •     The Import Value of the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in November 2011 was recorded at US $ 1.81 million, a decrease of 84.9 percent compared to October 2011 which reached US $ 12 million.
  •     The total import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during January-November 2011 reached US $ 58.8 million, down 8.4 percent compared to the same period last year which reached US $ 64.1 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decline of non-oil and gas imports by 22.9 percent from US $ 54.1 million to US $ 41.7 million which is the largest contribution in the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province by 70.9 percent. Meanwhile, oil and gas imports increased by 69.7 percent from US $ 10.1 million to US $ 17.1 million.
  •     During January-November 2011, the largest contribution to total non-oil and gas imports was sea float and floating building (HS 89) with contribution of US $ 23.7 million (56.9 percent); Followed by machineries / aircraft mechanics (HS 84) of US $ 12.7 million (30.6 percent); Iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 2.0 million (4.7 percent); Machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 1.4 million (3.4 percent); Fertilizer (HS 31) of US $ 0.6 million (1.5 percent) and rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.6 million (1.5 percent).
  •     The five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January to November 2011 are Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and China. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during the period of January to November 2011 reached the largest figure of US $ 15.9 million or 28.0 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia with US $ 15.7 million (27.6 percent), Singapore US $ 12 , 9 million (22.7 percent), Vietnam US $ 5.1 million (8.9 percent) and China US $ 5.0 million (8.8 percent).
