Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OF JUNE 2011 ACHIEVED US $ 271.6 MILLION

  •     The export value of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in June 2011 reached US $ 271.6 million (based on the Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 245.8 million and non tin of US $ 25.7 million.
  •     Tin as the biggest export accounted for 79.1 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to June 2011. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 864.9 million or 69.3 percent of total tin exports, followed by the Netherlands US $ 82 , 6 million (6.6 percent), Malaysia US $ 82.4 million (6.6 percent), Japan US $ 53.3 million (4.3 percent) and Taiwan US $ 48.0 million (3.8 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 90.7 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     The largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-June 2011 was the oil or animal and vegetable fats amounting to U $ 81.7 million (24.9 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods U $ 52.2 million (15.9 percent); Coffee, tea and spices U $ 8.2 million (2.5 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 4.0 million (1.2 percent); Metal ores and metal scraps of US $ 2.5 million (0.8 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 1.9 million (0.6 percent). The contribution of the six non-tin categories reached 45.8 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     Non-tin exports during the period from January to June 2011 to Australia reached US $ 139.2 million or contributed the most with 42.4 percent of total non-tin exports followed by Vietnam US62.4 million (19.0 percent), China US $ 41 Million (12.5 percent), Malaysia US $ 34.7 million (10.6 percent), Singapore US $ 26.1 million (8.0 percent), Bangladesh US $ 5.4 million (1.6 percent) and India US $ 4 , 7 million (1.4 percent). The contribution of the seven countries reached 96.8 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

MONTH OF JUNE 2011 ACHIEVED US $ 3.4 MILLION

  •     The value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in June 2011 reached US $ 3.4 million or decreased 55.0 percent compared to May 2011 which amounted to US $ 7.5 million.
  •     The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January to June 2011 reached US $ 22.7 million or down 50.0 percent compared to the same period the previous year which amounted to US $ 45.3 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decrease of non-oil and gas imports by 57.4 percent from US $ 41.3 million to US $ 17.6 million, while oil and gas imports increased by 24.8 percent from US $ 4.1 million to US $ 5.1 million .
  •     The goods category that gives the largest contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to June 2011 are marine and floating building (HS 89) with contribution of US $ 9.3 million (52.7 percent), followed by machineries / HS 84) of US $ 5.5 million (31.2 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.7 million (4.2 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 0 , 6 million (3.6 percent), fertilizer (HS 31) of US $ 0.6 million (3.6 percent) and rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.4 million (2.5 percent) The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 97.8 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •     The five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January to June 2011 are Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Japan. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during the period of January to June 2011 reached the highest figure of US $ 9.0 million or 39.6 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia amounted to US $ 4.2 million (18.5 percent), Singapore US $ 4 , 1 million (18.3 percent), Vietnam US $ 2.3 million (10.1 percent) and Japan US $ 1.2 million (5.5 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 96.7 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
