Abstract

Pangkalpinang City in November 2013 experienced a deflation of 0.88 percent, after earlier in October 2013 experienced inflation of 0.14 percent. Deflation in Pangkalpinang City occurred due to decreasing index in three expenditure groups namely; Foodstuff category decreased by 3.49 percent; Clothing group by 0.18 percent; And the last group of transport, communications and financial services by 0.04 percent. Groups that experienced an increase in index were the food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group increased by 0.30 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.60 percent; And the health group by 0.89 percent. Meanwhile the education, recreation and sports groups are stable.
Commodities contributing to inflation are shallots that reach 0.12 percent; Electricity rates of 0.11 percent; Wet shrimp by 0,06 percent; Sugar and cooking oil respectively by 0.05 percent; Red pepper, perfume, instant noodle instant each of 0.02 percent; And detergent cream soap and tissue respectively by 0.01 percent. On the contrary, the biggest contributing to deflation is the chicken meat of 0.33 percent; Dencis by 0.16 percent; Rice by 0.10 percent; Fish dencis, and selar fish respectively by 0.09 percent; Squid by 0.07 percent; Tuna fish of 0.06 percent; Hapau fish and mackerel respectively by 0,05 percent; And oranges by 0.04 percent.
The inflation rate of Pangkalpinang City in calendar year (January to November) of 2013 was 7.36 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2013 to November 2012) was 8.34 percent
