Abstract

In February 2014 in Kota Pangkalpinang there was a deflation of 2.11 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 112.50 after the previous January 2014 experienced inflation of 3.79 percent to CPI 114.92.
The deflation occurred due to the decline in prices as indicated by the decline in the index in the two expenditure categories, namely: foodstuffs group 7.70 percent and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.05 percent. While the group experiencing inflation is the group of finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco 0.05 percent; Clothing group 0.19 percent; Health group 0.79 percent; Education, recreation and sports group 0.08 percent of transportation, communication and financial services group 0.31 percent.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January-February) 2014 is 1.61 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2014 to February 2014) is 8.81 percent.
The core component in February 2014 contributed to inflation of 0.05 percent and a deflating volatile component of 2.11 percent. While the component whose price is set by the government gives a deflationary share of 0.05 percent.
