Abstract

EXPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OF JULY 2009 ACHIEVED US $ 105.40 MILLION


  •      In July 2009 the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Board (FOB) price reached US $ 105.40 million, with tin exports of US $ 90.52 million and non tin of US $ 14.88 million.
  •      In the period from January to July 2009, tin exports to Singapore reached the largest amount of US $ 496.38 million or 90.59 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 28.80 million (5.26 percent), China US $ 10, 61 million (2.14 percent), Republic of Korea US $ 5.01 million (1.01 percent) and Japan US $ 3.86 million (0.78 percent).
  •      During the period of January-July 2009, all non-tin exported goods category experienced a decrease in export value except for the oil or animal and vegetable fats (HS 15) which increased by 126.97 percent from US $ 5.31 million to US $ 12.04 million . The five main commodities of export commodities of Bangka Belitung Islands which experienced export decline were metal ore and metal scraps (67.60 percent), followed by salt, sulfur, soil and stone (25.73 percent), fishery products and processed products (22.26 percent ), Rubber and rubber goods (20.55 percent) and coffee, tea and spices (9.08 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports to Thailand cumulatively from January to June 2009 reached the highest figure of US $ 37.43 million or contributed the most with 26.40 percent of total non-tin exports followed by China at US $ 27.39 million (19.32 percent ), Malaysia US $ 22.27 million (15.71 percent), Vietnam US $ 12.44 million (8.78 percent), Singapore US $ 11.27 million (7.95 percent), India US $ 10.58 Million (7.46 percent), Australia US $ 10.35 million (7.30 percent) and UAE US $ 2.51 million (1.77 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 94.70 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.



IMPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OF JULY 2009 REACHING US $ 3.29 MILLION


  •      In July 2009 the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 3.29 million or increased 85.84 percent compared to June 2009 which amounted to US $ 1.31 million. The increase in import value is due to the rise of non-oil and gas imports. Non-oil and gas imports rose 422.21 percent from US $ 0.48 million to US $ 2.49 million, while oil and gas imports fell 4.45 percent from US $ 0.83 million to US $ 0.79 million.
  •      In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to July 2009, the sea transport category (HS 89) contributed the most with US $ 10.34 million (64.04 percent), followed by boiler and machine (HS 84) US $ 0.84 million (5.22 percent), rubber and rubber goods 0.42 million (2.58 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.33 million (2.07 percent), ceramic products (HS 69) of US $ 0.22 million (1.37 Percent), and glass & glassware (HS 70) of US $ 33.02 thousand (0.20 percent). The contribution of the seven categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 98.62 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •      In the period from January to July 2009, the five largest suppliers of imported goods were Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, China and Malaysia. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during January-July 2009 reached US $ 9.11 million or 41.66 percent of total imports, followed by Vietnam amounting to US $ 4.59 million (20.98 percent), Singapore US $ 2 , 73 million (12.47 percent), China with US $ 2.63 million (12.02 percent) and Malaysia with US $ 2.27 million (12.54 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 98.23 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
