Abstract

In June 2014 in Pangkalpinang City inflation stood at 0.24 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 111.10 after earlier in June 2014 experiencing a deflation of 1.27 percent with CPI of 110.83.
Inflation was attributable to an increase in prices as indicated by the rising index of six expenditure groups ie foodstuff category which experienced inflation by 0.01 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.49 percent; Clothing group 1.45 percent; Health group 0.53 percent; Education, recreation and sports group 0.12 percent; As well as the transportation, communication and financial services group 0.13 percent. While expenditure groups experiencing deflation only the group of finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco 0.02 percent.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January-June) 2014 is 0.34 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2014 to June 2013) is 4.14 percent.
The core component of June 2014 contributed to inflation of 0.05 percent and a volatile component of inflation of 0.12 percent. While the component whose price is set by the government contributes to inflation of 0.05 percent.
