Abstract

In September 2014 in Pangkalpinang City inflation stood at 1.29 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.82 after the previous August 2014 also experienced inflation but lower by 0.18 percent to CPI 113.36.
Inflation was attributable to an increase in prices as indicated by rising indexes in six expenditure categories ie foodstuffs by 3.23 percent; Food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco 2.38 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.83 percent; Clothing group 0.20 percent; Health group 0.20 percent; Education, recreation and sports group by 0.20 percent. While the transportation, communication and financial services group deflation was 1.45 percent.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2014 is 3.70 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2014 to September 2013) is 4.29 percent.
The core component of September 2014 contributed to 0.74 percent inflation and a deflationary deflationary component of 0.53 percent. While the component whose price is set by the government contributes to deflation by 0.02 percent.
