Abstract

In November 2014 in Pangkalpinang City, inflation stood at 1.10 percent with Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.29 after the previous October 2014 experienced deflation of 0.68 percent with CPI 114.04.
Inflation was attributable to an increase in prices as indicated by rising indexes in five expenditure categories: foodstuffs by 0.92 percent, food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.61 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.63 percent; Health group 0.63 percent; Transport, communications and financial services group 3.75 percent. Only one group experienced deflation of clothing by 0.07 percent. While the education, recreation and sports groups are stable.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January-November) 2014 is 4.13 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2014 to November 2013) is 5.01 percent.
The core component in November 2014 contributed to inflation of 0.54 percent and volatile components as well as inflation of 0.50 percent. While the component whose price is set by the government contributes the largest inflation of 3.70 percent.
