Abstract

EXPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OF JUNE 2009 ACHIEVED US $ 92.03 MILLION


  •      In June 2009 the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Board (FOB) price reached US $ 92.03 million, with tin exports of US $ 80.24 million and non tin of US $ 11.79 million.
  •      In the January-June 2009 period, tin exports to Singapore reached US $ 417.30 million or 91.84 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 22.51 million (4.96 percent), China US $ 5, 78 million (1.39 percent), Republic of Korea US $ 3.86 million (0.92 percent) and Japan US $ 2.49 million (0.60 percent).
  •      During the period of January-June 2009, all non-tin exported goods category experienced a decrease in export value except for fish and processed products category (HS 03) which increased by 18.13 percent from US $ 4.23 million to US $ 4.99 million. The five main categories of export commodities of Bangka Belitung Islands which experienced export decline were coffee, tea and spices (69.18 percent), followed by metal ores and metal scraps (60.59 percent), animal or vegetable oils or fats (50.55 Percent), rubber and rubber goods (30.85 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stone (18.85 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports to Thailand in cumulative January-June 2009 reached the largest number of US $ 37.43 million or contributed the most 29.05 percent to total non-tin exports, followed by China amounted to US $ 28.80 million (22.36 percent ), Malaysia US $ 14.29 million (11.09 percent), Vietnam US $ 12.26 million (9.51 percent), Singapore US $ 10.65 million (8.27 percent), Australia US $ 10.35 Million (8.04 percent), India US $ 6.21 million (4.82 percent) and UAE US $ 2.51 million (1.95 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 95.07 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.



IMPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH MEI 2009 REACHES US $ 0.85 MILLION


  •      In June 2009 the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 0.85 million or down 85.84 percent compared to May 2009 which amounted to US $ 6.04 million. The decline in the value of imports is caused by the decline in imports both oil and gas and non-oil. Oil and gas imports fell 80.42 percent from US $ 1.93 million to US $ 0.38 million, while non-oil and gas imports dropped 88.38 percent from US $ 4.11 million to US $ 0.48 million.
  •      In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to June 2009, the sea transport category (HS 89) contributed the most with US $ 8.09 million (59.22 percent), followed by boiler and machine (HS 84) of US $ 3.59 million (26.30 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 0.84 million (6.14 percent), rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.39 million (2.88 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.31 million (2.23 percent), ceramic products (HS 69) of US $ 0.19 million (1.39 Percent), and glass & glassware (HS 70) amounted to US $ 33.02 thousand (0.24 percent). The contribution of the seven categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 98.42 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •      In the period from January to June 2009, the five largest suppliers of imported goods were Thailand, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Singapore. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during January-June 2009 reached US $ 6.91 million or 38.15 percent of total imports, followed by Vietnam with US $ 3.79 million (20.93 percent), China US $ 2 , 47 million (13.61 percent), Malaysia amounted to US $ 2.39 million (13.20 percent) and Singapore US $ 2.27 million (12.54 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 98.44 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
