Abstract

EXPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OCTOBER 2009 REACHES US $ 85.92 MILLION


  •      In October 2009 the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Board (FOB) price reached US $ 85.92 million, with tin exports of US $ 74.88 million and non tin amounting to US $ 11.04 million.
  •     In the January-October 2009 period, tin exports to Singapore reached US $ 745.43 million or 91.28 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 42.96 million (5.26 percent), China US $ 11, 61 million (1.56 percent), Japan US $ 5.73 million (0.77 percent) and the Republic of Korea US $ 4.55 million (0.61 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 99.22 percent of the total tin export Province of Bangka Belitung Islands.
  •      During the period of January-October 2009, all non-tin exported goods category experienced a decrease in export value compared to the same period in the previous year except for fishery and processed products which increased by 14.81 percent from US $ 6.05 million to US $ 6.95 million . The five main commodities of export commodities of Bangka Belitung Islands which experienced a decrease in exports of coffee, tea and spices (64.12 percent), followed by metal ores and metal scraps (55.01 percent), salt, sulfur, soil and rock (36, 42 percent), rubber and rubber goods (34.57 percent), and animal or vegetable oils and fats (18.03 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports to Australia in cumulative January-October 2009 reached the largest number of US $ 55.85 million or contributed the most with 24.19 percent of total non-tin exports followed by Thailand US $ 37.43 million (16.21 percent) , Malaysia amounted to US $ 36.88 million (15.98 percent), China US $ 31.17 million (13.50 percent), Vietnam US $ 22.59 million (9.79 percent), India US $ 19.18 Million (8.31 percent), Singapore US $ 13.02 million (5.64 percent) and UAE US $ 3.65 million (1.58 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 95.20 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.



IMPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OCTOBER 2009 REACHES US $ 6.44 MILLION


  •      In October 2009 the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 6.44 million or decreased 32.97 percent compared to September 2009 which amounted to US $ 9.61 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decrease of non-oil and gas imports by 8.99 percent from US $ 7.08 million to US $ 6.44 thousand and the absence of oil and gas imports in October 2009.
  •      In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to October 2009, the sea transport category (HS 89) contributed the most with US $ 14.13 million (43.76 percent), followed by boiler and machine (HS 84) of US $ 11.64 million (36.05 percent), iron and steel (HS 72) of US $ 2.29 million (7.08 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.72 million (5.32 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.97 million (3.01 percent) and rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.60 million (1, 85 percent). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 97.07 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •      In the period from January to October 2009, the five largest suppliers of imported goods were Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and China. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during January-October 2009 reached US $ 12.94 million or 30.02 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia with US $ 10.18 million (23.63 percent), Singapore US $ 6 , 72 million (15.59 percent), Vietnam US $ 5.54 million (12.85 percent) and China US $ 5.08 million (11.78 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 93.87 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
