Abstract

Tanjungpandan City in May 2014 there was inflation of 0.56 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.32.

Inflation in May 2014 was attributable to price increases as indicated by the rise in the Consumer Price Index in the foodstuffs group of 1.61 percent; Food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group 0.30 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.13 percent; Clothing group 0.12 percent and the transport, communication and financial services group 0.09 percent. While the group that did not experience changes in index or relatively stable, namely: health and education groups, recreation, and sports.
The inflation rate for the calendar year of May 2014 was 2.88 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2014 to May 2013) amounted to 12.02 percent.
Commodity groups contributing to inflation in May 2014, namely: foodstuffs group 0.40 percent; Finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.08 percent; Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.03 percent; Clothing group 0.03 percent; And the 0.02 percent transport, communication and financial services group. While the health and education, recreation and sports groups do not contribute to inflation in May 2014.
