Abstract

In August 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province was 1.02 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.78. The highest y-on-y inflation in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province occurred in Tanjung Pandan at 1.75 percent with a CPI of 106.52. Meanwhile, the lowest y-on-y inflation occurred in West Bangka Regency at 0.11 percent with a CPI of 101.11.

The y-on-y inflation in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 1.57 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.71 percent; health group by 0.36 percent; transportation group by 0.99 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.55 percent; education group by 1.94 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.53 percent; and personal care and other services group by 1.42 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in index or experienced deflation, namely: housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.26 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.31 percent; and information, communication, and financial services group by 0.18 percent.

The Bangka Belitung Islands Province experienced month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation of 0.23 percent and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation of 0.30 percent.
