Abstract

In July 2023 Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in Pangkalpinang was 1.83 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.95. The lowest y-on-y inflation in Indonesia occurred in Gunungsitoli at 0.50 percent with a CPI of 116.28. Meanwhile, the highest y-on-y inflation in Indonesia occurred in Merauke City at 5.21 percent with a CPI of 116.10.
  • Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in CPI in almost all expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.32 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 0.56 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 1.13 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 0.29 percent; the health group by 4.37 percent; transportation group by 6.19 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 1.44 percent; the education group by 0.04 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 0.90 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 1.57 percent. On the other hand, the group that experienced deflation or a decrease in the CPI was the information, communication and financial services group which experienced a deflation of 0.65 percent.
  • The July 2023 Pangkalpinang Month to Month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 0.29 percent and the July 2023 Year to Date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.13 percent.
  • The y-on-y inflation rate for the Energy component was 12.08 percent with an inflation share of 1.1918 percent; while the Foodstuffs component experienced deflation or a decrease in CPI of 1.06 percent with a deflationary share of 0.2684 percent.
