Abstract

In May 2023, the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung experienced year on year (y-on-y) inflation of 2.41 percent with a CPI of 116.15. The monthly inflation rate or month to month (m-to-m) is 0.47 percent and the calendar year inflation rate or year to date (y-to-d) is also 1.59 percent.
  • Y-on-y inflation in Pangkalpinang City was 1.93 percent and m-to-m inflation was 0.01 percent, with a CPI of 114.16. Y-on-y inflation in Tanjungpandan City was 3.24 percent and m-to-m inflation was 1.28 percent, with a CPI of 119.76.
  • Inflation y-on-y Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung this month occurred due to an increase in index in almost all expenditure groups, namely; the clothing and footwear group by 1.33 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 2.03 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 1.13 percent; the health group by 1.33 percent; transportation group by 12.10 percent; recreation, sport and culture group by 0.63 percent; the education group by 1.06 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 1.98 percent; as well as the personal care and other services group of 3.63 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced a decrease in index was only the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.07 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.52 percent.
  • The share of y-on-y inflation of the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung was mainly contributed by the commodities of gasoline, rice and air transportation. Meanwhile, the share of m-to-m inflation was mainly due to the commodities of purebred chicken, shallots and yellow tail fish.
