Abstract

In January 2023, the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 4.94 percent with a CPI of 114.96. The monthly inflation rate or month to month (m-to-m) is 0.55 percent and the calendar year inflation rate or year to date (y-to-d) is also 0.55 percent.

Y-on-y inflation in Pangkalpinang City was 4.68 percent and m-to-m deflation was 0.10 percent, with a CPI of 113.55. Y-on-y inflation in Tanjungpandan City was 5.38 percent and m-to-m inflation was 1.71 percent, with a CPI of 117.52.

Inflation y-on-y Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung this month occurred due to an increase in index in almost all expenditure groups, namely; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.93 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.37 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 4.45 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 2.59 percent; the health group by 1.21 percent; transportation group by 15.18 percent; recreation, sport and culture group by 3.10 percent; the education group by 1.06 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 6.90 percent; as well as the personal care and other services group of 7.45 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced a decrease in index was only the information, communication and financial services group by 0.31 percent.

The share of y-on-y inflation of the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung was mainly contributed by the commodities of gasoline, air transportation and filter clove cigarettes. Meanwhile, the share of m-to-m inflation was mainly due to the commodities of rice, purebred chicken and shallots.
