In March 2018 the city of Tanjungpandan experienced deflation
by 0.05 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI)
amounting to 139.70.
• Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price
indicated by the decline of index in two groups
expenditures, ie: foodstuffs by 0.72
percent; and groups of transport, communications, and financial services
by 0.44 percent. While the five spending groups
experienced an increase in index of clothing group of
1.47 percent; finished food groups, beverages, cigarettes, and
tobacco by 0.34 percent; leisure education group,
and sports by 0.33 percent; housing, water,
electricity and fuel by 0.07 percent; as well as groups
health by 0.07 percent.
• March 2010 calendar year inflation rate of 0.10 percent
and year-on-year inflation rate (March 2018 to March
2017) of 4.17 percent.
• The core component in March 2018 experienced a deflation of
0.18 percent; volatile components of inflation by 0.19 percent;
and government inflation set by 0.08 percent.
