Abstract

EXPORT OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OF JANUARY-DECEMBER 2009 APPLIES US $ 1.27 BILLION


  •      In December 2009 the export value of Bangka Belitung Islands based on Free On Boar (FOB) price reached US $ 124.18 million, with tin exports of US $ 101.81 million and non tin of US $ 22.37 million.
  •     In the period of January-December 2009, tin exports to Singapore reached the largest number of US $ 914.45 million or 90.27 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 48.05 million (4.74 percent), China US $ 16, 07 million (1.76 percent), Japan US $ 10.24 million (1.12 percent) and Taiwan US $ 9.09 million (0.99 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 98.51 percent of the total tin export Province of Bangka Belitung Islands.
  •      During the period of January-December 2009, all non-tin exported goods category experienced a decrease in export value compared to the same period in the previous year except for fishery and processed products which increased by 25.69 percent from US $ 7.00 million to US $ 8.80 million . The five main commodities of export commodities of Bangka Belitung Islands which experienced export decline were coffee, tea and spices (63.73 percent), followed by metal ore and metal scraps (58.77 percent), rubber and rubber goods (24, 64 percent), salt, sulfur, soil and rock (22.08 percent), and animal or vegetable oils and fats (11.36 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports to Australia in cumulative January-December 2009 reached the largest number of US $ 55.85 million or contributed the most with 21.51 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 54.36 million (20.94 percent) , Thailand amounted to US $ 37.43 million (14.41 percent), China US $ 33.13 million (12.76 percent), Vietnam US $ 22.66 million (8.73 percent), India US $ 19.32 Million (7.44 percent), Singapore US $ 13.98 million (5.39 percent) and UAE US $ 5.23 million (2.02 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 93.19 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

  •      In the period from January to December 2009, the import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province reached US $ 51.53 million, down 0.27 percent compared to the same period in the previous year which amounted to US $ 51.67 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decline of oil and gas imports by 30.34 percent from US $ 21.85 million to US $ 15.22 million while non-oil and gas imports increased by 21.77 percent from US $ 29.82 million to US $ 36 , 31 million.
  •      In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to December 2009, the sea transport category (HS 89) contributed the most with US $ 15.17 million (41.78 percent), followed by boiler and machine (HS 84) of US US $ 2.46 million (6.78 percent), iron and steel (HS 72) of US $ 2.29 million (6, US $ 2.46 million (US $ 2.29 million) 31 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.85 million (5.10 percent) and machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.97 million (2.68 percent). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 95.43 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •      In the period from January to December 2009, the six largest imported goods suppliers were Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, China and Sweden. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during January-December 2009 reached US $ 13.98 million or 27.13 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia with US $ 11.43 million (22.18 percent), Singapore with US $ 9 , 75 million (18.92 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 6 million (11.65 percent), China US $ 5.22 million (10.13 percent) and Sweden amounted to US $ 2.5 million (4 , 86 percent). The contribution of the six countries reached 94.86 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
