Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH FEBRUARY 2011 REACHES US $ 182,6 MILLION

  •     The export value of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in February 2011 reached US $ 182.6 million (based on the Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 160.1 million and non tin of US $ 22.4 million.
  •     Tin as the largest export accounted for 80.8 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to February 2011. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 220.1 million or 66.7 percent of total tin exports, followed by the Netherlands US $ 35 , 3 million (10.7 percent), Malaysia US $ 17.0 million (5.2 percent), Japan US $ 13.1 million (4.0 percent) and Taiwan US $ 11.1 million (3.4 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 89.8 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     The largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during January-February 2011 period was oil or animal fats and vegetables of U $ 31.7 million (40.5 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods U $ 12.3 million (15.8 percent); Coffee, tea and spices U $ 2.1 million (2.71 percent); Metal ores and metal scraps of US $ 2.1 million (2.7 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 1.0 million (1.2 per cent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 0.4 million (0.5 per cent). The contribution of the six non-tin categories reached 63.4 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     Non-tin exports during the period of January-February 2011 to Australia reached the largest amount of US $ 28.7 million or contributed the most with 36.6 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Singapore US $ 16.2 million (20.7 percent), China US $ 11.7 million (14.9 percent), Malaysia US $ 6.4 million (8.2 percent), Bangladesh US $ 5.3 million (6.8 percent), Vietnam US $ 4.0 million (5.1 percent) , And Japan US $ 2.5 million (3.2 percent). The contribution of the seven countries reached 95.7 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

IMPORT PROVINCE BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH FEBRUARY 2011 REACHES US $ 2.8 MILLION

  •     The value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in February 2011 reached US $ 2.8 million, up 153.2 percent compared to January 2011 of US $ 1.1 million.
  •     The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January to February 2011 reached US $ 3.9 million or down 79.2 percent over the same period the previous year which amounted to US $ 18.8 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decline of oil and gas imports by 58.8 percent from US $ 2.0 million to US $ 0.8 million and non-oil and gas imports by 81.6 percent from US $ 16.8 million to US $ 3.1 million.
  •     The goods category that gives the largest contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to February 2011 are machineries / aircraft mechanics (HS 84) with contribution of US $ 2.1 million (68.8 percent), followed by marine vessels and floating buildings HS 89) of US $ 0.4 million (14.4 percent), fertilizer (HS 31) of US $ 0.3 million (9.0 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 0.1 million (3.4 percent), rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.1 million (3.0 percent) and machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0.01 million (0.4 percent ). The contribution of the six categories of non oil and gas goods reached 99.0 percent of total non oil and gas imports.
  •     The five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January to February 2011 are Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Belgium. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Malaysia during the period of January to February 2011 reached the largest number of US $ 2.0 million or 51.0 percent of total imports, followed by Thailand of US $ 0.6 million (15.1 percent), Singapore US $ 0 , 5 million (13.0 percent), Vietnam for US $ 0.5 million (12.2 percent) and Belgium amounting to US $ 0.3 million (7.1 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 98.3 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
