Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH AUGUST 2011 REACHES US $ 209.1 MILLION

  •     The export value from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in August 2011 reached US $ 209.1 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 180.4 million and non tin of US $ 28.6 million.
  •     Tin as the largest export accounted for 75.7 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to August 2011. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 1,136.7 million or 70.0 percent of total tin exports, followed by Netherlands US $ 108 , 1 million (6.7 percent), Malaysia US $ 106.0 million (6.5 percent), Taiwan US $ 61.2 million (3.8 percent) and Japan US $ 59.1 million (3.6 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 90.7 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     The largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-August 2011 was the oil or animal and vegetable fats amounting to U $ 114.8 million (22.0 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods of U $ 66.7 million (12.8 percent); Coffee, tea and spices U $ 12.3 million (2.4 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 5.4 million (1.0 percent); Metal ores and metal scraps of US $ 3.3 million (0.6 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 2.9 million (0.6 percent). The contribution of the six non-tin categories reached 39.3 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     Non-tin exports during the period from January to August 2011 to Australia reached the largest amount of US $ 139.4 million or contributed the most with 26.7 percent of total non-tin exports followed by Vietnam US $ 117.8 million (22.6 percent), Japan US $ 66.9 million (12.8 percent), Singapore US $ 64.4 million (12.3 percent), China US $ 55.5 million (10.6 percent), Malaysia US $ 51.3 million (9.8 percent) And India US $ 8.8 million (1.7 percent). The contribution of the seven countries reached 96.5 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.


IMPORT PROVINCE BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH AUGUST 2011 APPLIES US $ 7.5 MILLION


  •     The Value of Import Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in August 2011 reached US $ 7.5 million or up 165.8 percent compared to July 2011 which amounted to US $ 2.8 million.
  •     The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-August 2011 reached US $ 33.0 million or down 36.5 percent over the same period the previous year which amounted to US $ 51.9 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decrease of non-oil and gas imports by 45.5 percent from US $ 46.0 million to US $ 25.1 million, while oil and gas imports only increased by 33.2 percent from US $ 5.9 million to US $ 7.9 million.
  •     The goods category that gives the largest contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to August 2011 are marine and floating ship (HS 89) with contribution of US $ 14.7 million (58.6 percent), followed by machineries / HS 84) of US $ 7.0 million (28.0 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.0 million (3.9 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 0 (US $ 0.6 million (2.5 percent) and rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.5 million ). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 98.2 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •     The five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January to August 2011 are Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Japan. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during the period from January to August 2011 reached the largest figure of US $ 11.2 million or 33.9 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia at US $ 8.5 million (25.6 percent), Singapore US $ 6 , 1 million (18.6 percent), Vietnam US $ 3.3 million (9.9 percent) and Japan US $ 1.7 million (5.2 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 93.2 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
