Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH SEPTEMBER 2011 REACHES US $ 115.8 MILLION

  •     The export value from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in September 2011 reached US $ 115.8 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 99.1 million and non tin of US $ 16.7 million.
  •     Tin as the largest export includes 75.3 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January to September 2011. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 1,197.2 million or 69.5 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 119 , 6 million (6.9 percent), Netherlands US $ 112.5 million (6.5 percent), Taiwan US $ 68.1 million (4.0 percent) and Japan US $ 64.3 million (3.7 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 90.7 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     The largest non-tin export commodities of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January to September 2011 were the animal or vegetable oils or fats of U $ 122.0 million (21.6 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods U $ 72.9 million (12.9 percent); Coffee, tea and spices U $ 15.0 million (2.7 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 5.9 million (1.0 percent); Metal ores and metal scraps of US $ 3.3 million (0.6 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones of US $ 3.1 million (0.6 percent). The contribution of the six non-tin categories reached 39.4 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     Non-tin exports during the period of January-September 2011 to Australia reached the largest number of US $ 139.4 million or contributed the most with 24.7 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Vietnam US $ 125.2 million (22.2 percent), Japan US $ 92.5 million (16.4 percent), Singapore US $ 65.9 million (11.7 percent), China US $ 61.6 million (10.9 percent), Malaysia US $ 51.6 million (9.2 percent) And India US $ 8.8 million (1.6 percent). The contribution of the seven countries reached 96.6 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

  •     The Import Value of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in September 2011 was recorded at US $ 12.0 million, up 59.5 percent compared to August 2011 of US $ 7.5 million
  •     The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January to September 2011 reached US $ 45.0 million or down 13.4 percent over the same period the previous year which amounted to US $ 51.9 million. The decline in import value was caused by the decline of non-oil and gas imports by 31.7 percent from US $ 46.0 million to US $ 31.4 million, while oil and gas imports increased 127.9 percent from US $ 5.9 million to US $ 13.5 million .
  •     The goods category that gives the largest contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to September 2011 are marine and floating ship (HS 89) with contribution of US $ 17.0 million (54,0 percent), followed by machineries / HS 84) of US $ 10.0 million (32.0 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.4 million (4.5 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 1 , 2 million (3.9 percent), fertilizer (HS 31) of US $ 0.6 million (2.0 percent) and rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.6 million (2.0 percent ). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 98.2 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •     The five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January to September 2011 are Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Japan. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from Thailand during the period of January to September 2011 reached the largest number of US $ 13.5 million or 30.0 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia of US $ 12.0 million (26.7 percent), Singapore US $ 10 , 8 million (23.9 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 4.5 million (10.1 percent) and Japan amounted to US $ 1.9 million (4.2 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 94.8 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
