Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OCTOBER 2011 REACHES US $ 102.2 MILLION

  •     The export value from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in October 2011 reached US $ 102.2 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 84.4 million and non tin of US $ 17.8 million.
  •     Tin as the largest export accounted for 75.0 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to October 2011. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 1,252.4 million or 69.4 percent of total tin exports, followed by the Netherlands US $ 126 , 7 million (7.0 percent), Malaysia US $ 120.5 million (6.7 percent), Taiwan US $ 74.6 million (4.1 percent) and Japan US $ 64.3 million (3.6 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 90.7 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     The largest non-tin export commodities of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January to October 2011 were the animal or vegetable oils or fats of US $ 133.6 million (22.2 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods of US $ 75.5 million (12.5 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 16.3 million (2.7 percent); Fishery and processed products US $ 7.1 million (1.2 percent); Salt, sulfur, soil and stones of US $ 4.0 million (0.7 percent) and metal ores and metal scraps of US $ 3.5 million (0.6 percent). The contribution of the six non-tin categories reached 39.8 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     Non-tin exports during the period of January-October 2011 to Australia reached the largest amount of US $ 139.4 million or contributed the most with 23.1 percent of total non-tin exports followed by Vietnam US $ 126.0 million (20.9 percent), Japan US $ 113.8 million (18.9 percent), Singapore US $ 66.8 million (11.1 percent), China US $ 64.3 million (10.7 percent), Malaysia US $ 63.9 million (10.6 percent) And India US $ 8.9 million (1.5 percent). The contribution of the seven countries reached 96.7 percent of the total non-tin exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

IMPORT PROVINCE BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
OCTOBER MONTH 2011 REACHES US $ 12.0 MILLION

  •     The Import Value of the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in October 2011 was recorded at US $ 12.0 million, up 0.1 percent compared to September 2011 which amounted to US $ 11.98 million.
  •     The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January to October 2011 reached US $ 57.0 million or down 9.1 percent over the same period the previous year which amounted to US $ 62.6 million. The decline in import value was caused by the drop in non-oil and gas imports by 23.2 percent from US $ 53.0 million to US $ 40.7 million, while oil and gas imports increased by 68.5 percent from US $ 9.6 million to US $ 16.2 million .
  •     The categories of goods that contribute the most to non-oil and gas imports from January to October 2011 are marine and floating ship (HS 89) with a contribution of US $ 23.0 million (56.4 percent), followed by machineries / HS 84) of US $ 12.5 million (30.8 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 2.0 million (4.8 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 1 , 4 million (3.5 percent), fertilizer (HS 31) of US $ 0.6 million (1.5 percent) and rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0.6 million (1.5 percent ). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 98.5 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •     The five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January to October 2011 are Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and China. Bangka Belitung Islands Province imports from Thailand during the period of January to October 2011 reached the largest number of US $ 15.9 million or 28.0 percent of total imports, followed by Malaysia amounted to US $ 15.7 million (27.6 percent), Singapore US $ 12 , 9 million (22.7 percent), Vietnam US $ 5.1 million (8.9 percent) and China US $ 5.0 million (8.8 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 95.9 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
