Abstract

On January 2016 Tanjungpandan City deflation of 0.02 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 127.91 after the December 2015 inflation of 1.23 percent with CPI of 127.94.
Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price indicated by the decline in the index in two groups namely foodstuffs expenditure of 1.15 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services by 5.40 percent. While the group experienced an increase in the index are: food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 3.66 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.76 percent; clothing group by 0.10 percent; health group of 0.57 percent; and education, recreation and sports at 0.50 percent.
The inflation rate in January 2016 calendar year amounted to - 0.02 percent and the inflation rate year-on-year (January 2016 to January 2015) amounted to - 0.52 percent.
Component whose price is set government in January 2016 gave a deflation of 0.40 percent, as well as volatile components with deflation of 0.37 percent. While the core components contributed inflation of 0.75 percent.
