Abstract

In February 2023, the combined 2 cities in Bangka Belitung experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 5.78 per cent with a CPI of 114.62. The monthly deflation rate or month to month (m-to-m) was 0.30 per cent and the calendar year inflation rate or year to date (y-to-d) was also 0.25 per cent.
  • Y-on-y inflation in Pangkalpinang City was 4.92 per cent and m-to-m deflation was 0.31 per cent, with a CPI of 113.20. Y-on-y inflation in Tanjungpandan City was 7.34 per cent and m-to-m deflation was 0.26 per cent, with a CPI of 117.21.
  • The y-on-y inflation in the combined 2 cities in Bangka Belitung this month occurred due to an increase in the index in almost all expenditure groups, namely; food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.18 per cent; clothing and footwear group by 1.24 per cent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 4.46 per cent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 2.13 per cent; health group by 1.41 per cent; transportation group by 13.85 per cent; recreation, sports and culture group by 2.48 per cent; education group by 1.06 per cent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 6.52 per cent; and personal care and other services group by 6.66 per cent. Meanwhile, the only group that experienced a decrease in the index was the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.53 per cent.
  • The y-on-y inflation share of the combined two cities in Bangka Belitung was mainly contributed by petrol, air transport, and household fuel commodities. Meanwhile, the share of m-to-m deflation was mainly caused by the commodities of broiler chicken meat, air transportation, and mackerel.
