Abstract

In October 2022, the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung experienced a deflation of 0.55 percent with a CPI of 113.16. The inflation rate for the calendar year October 2022 is 4.30 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2022 to October 2021) is 6.23 percent.
  • The two CPI monitoring cities in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands also experienced deflation, namely Pangkalpinang by 0.30 percent with a CPI of 112.34 and Tanjungpandan City by 1.00 percent with a CPI of 114.64.
  • This month's deflation was due to a decline in indexes in 4 expenditure groups, namely; food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.67 percent; transportation group by 0.10 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.34 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced an increase in the index were the clothing and footwear group by 0.03 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.17 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.37 percent; health group by 0.24 percent; and the education group by 0.03 percent. Recreational, sports and cultural groups as well as groups for providing food and drinks/restaurants are the groups that are monitored stable.
  • The joint deflationary share of 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung in October 2022 was mainly contributed by commodities of red chili, selar fish, and mackerel. Meanwhile, the driving force behind the inflation rate was the increase in commodity prices for gasoline, filter kretek cigarettes, and bottled water.
