Abstract

In April 2019, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 1.14 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 145.97.

Inflation occurs because of an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the three expenditure group indices, namely the foodstuffs group by 3.41 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0,10 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group of 1.68 percent. While the two expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.02 percent and the clothing group by 0.05 percent. While health groups and recreation and sports education groups are relatively stable.

The inflation rate for April 2019 calendar year was 1.83 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2019 against April 2018) was 4.77 percent.

The core component in April 2019 experienced inflation of 0.28 percent; volatile components experienced inflation of 3.44 percent; and the government regulated component experienced inflation of 1.14 percent.

Combined Two Cities in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands, namely the cities of Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan in April 2019 experienced inflation of 0.89 percent with CPI of 143.57.
