Abstract

In May 2019, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.21 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 146.27.

Inflation occurs because of an increase in prices as indicated by an increase of five expenditure group indices, namely the foodstuffs group by 1.06 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group at 0.05 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.08 percent; clothing group by 0.37 percent and health group by 0.08 percent. While the two expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the recreation and sports education group by 0.04 percent and the transportation, communication and financial services group by 1.14 percent.

The inflation rate for the calendar year in May 2019 was 2.04 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2019 to May 2018) was 4.66 percent.

The core component in May 2019 experienced inflation of 0.39 percent; volatile components experienced inflation of 0.58 percent; and the government regulated component experienced deflation of 0.85 percent.

The Combined Two Cities in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands, namely the cities of Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan in May 2019 experienced inflation of 1.21 percent with CPI 145.31.
