Abstract

In July 2018 Tanjungpandan City experienced an inflation of 0.85 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 142.75.
Inflation was attributable to price increases as indicated by rising indexes in five expenditure categories: foodstuffs by 4.18 percent; health group by 2.07 percent; finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group of 1.03 percent; clothing group by 0.58 percent; and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups by 0.02 percent. While the transport, communication and financial services group experienced a 5.84 percent price reduction and recreation education group, and sports prices declined by 0.01 percent.
The July 2018 calendar year inflation rate was 2.29 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2018 to July 2017) was 2.76 percent.
The core component in July 2018 experienced inflation of 1.33 percent; volatile components experienced inflation of 2.80 percent; and government regulated components experienced deflation of 3.38 percent.
