May 2018, Number of Hotel Guests Achieves 31,763 Visits, Down 23.45%

A. TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

The number of guests staying at star-rated hotels in the province of Bangka Belitung Islands in May 2018 was recorded at 31,763 people. This number decreased by 23.45 percent compared to the previous month's total number of 41,495 people. The number of foreign guests fell 15.57 percent and the number of domestic guests dropped by 23.56 percent.
Room Classification Rate (TPK) of a star classification hotel in the province of Bangka Belitung Islands in May 2018 reached an average of 35.50 percent, down 10.45 points compared to April 2018 at 45.95 percent.
The highest number of star-rated hotels by regency / municipality in May 2018 was in Kabupaten Bangka Tengah of 42.49 percent, followed by Belitung Regency (38.60 percent), Pangkalpinang Municipality (35.51 percent), and Kabupaten Bangka (16.84 percent) .
As of May 2018, the average length of stay of total guests overall in the star classification hotels was 1.76 days, a decline of 0.09 points over the previous month. During May 2018, the average length of stay of foreign guests (2.59 days) was 0.81 days longer than Indonesian guests (1.78 days).
B. TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT

The number of inter-island sea transport passengers departing from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in May 2018 was 8.68 thousand people, up 8.69 percent compared to April 2018 which reached 7.98 thousand people. When compared to the same period in the previous year (January-May 2017), the number of passengers departing rose by 8.35 percent.
The number of passenger sea transport passengers arriving in the province of Bangka Belitung Islands in May 2018 was recorded at 9.66 thousand people. The number rose by 12.25 percent compared to the previous month. When compared to the same period last year (January-May 2017) the flow of passengers who came increased by 5.37 percent.
The volume of goods loaded in the harbor in May 2018 was 600.22 thousand tons, down by 11.20 percent compared to April 2018 of 675.90 thousand tons.
The volume of goods dismantled during May 2018 was 200,91 thousand tons, down by 20.74 percent compared to the previous month which reached 253.48 thousand tons.
The number of air transport passengers departing from the Bangka Belitung Islands in May 2018 was 111.43 thousand people, down by 19.11 percent compared with the previous month.
The number of passengers arriving to the Bangka Belitung Islands using air transport in May 2018 was 107.74 thousand people, down by 20.48 percent compared to the previous month.
