In March 2018 the city of Pangkalpinang experienced inflation
of 0.28 percent with Consumer Price Index (CPI)
amounted to 137.92.
• Inflation occurs because of the price increase shown
by the rise of some expenditure group indices, namely:
foodstuffs by 0.36 percent; group
finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco by 0.12
percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel groups
of 0.10 percent; clothing group by 0.10 percent;
as well as transport, communications and financial services groups
by 0.86 percent. Expense group experienced
the index decline is the health group of
0.03 percent. While the recreational education group, and
sport is still stable.
• The inflation rate for the calendar year of March 2018 was 0.71 percent
and year-on-year inflation rate (March 2018 to March
2017) of 2.39 percent.
• The core component in March 2018 experienced a deflation of
0.31 percent; a volatile component of inflation of 1.50 percent;
and government regulated inflation component by 0.68 percent.
• The province of Bangka Belitung Islands in March 2018 experienced
inflation of 0.17 percent with CPI of 138.55.
