Abstract
• In February 2018 the city of Tanjungpandan experienced deflation
of 0.29 percent with Consumer Price Index (CPI)
equal to 139,77.
• Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price indicated
by declining index in two expenditure groups, namely:
foodstuffs by 0.88 percent; and groups
transportation, communications and financial services by 1.51 percent.
While the three expenditure groups increased
index ie the group of finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and
tobacco by 0.21 percent; housing, water,
electricity and fuel by 0.36 percent; and groups
health by 0.25 percent. Meanwhile, the group
clothing; and recreational, and sports education groups
unchanged or relatively stable.
• The 2018 calendar year inflation rate of 0.15 percent and
year-on-year inflation rate (February 2018 against February)
2017) of 2.67 percent.
• The core component in February 2018 experienced inflation of
0.22 percent. While the turbulent component deflation of
1.12 percent, as well as government regulated components
deflation of 0.93 percent.
