Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OF JUNE 2010 REACHES US $ 126.8 MILLION

  •     The export value from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in June 2010 reached US $ 126.8 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 110.7 million and non tin of US $ 16.1 million.
  •     Tin as the largest export accounted for 85.0 percent of total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to June 2010. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 475.7 million or 87.4 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 16 , 7 million (3.1 percent), China US $ 12.6 million (2.3 percent), Netherlands US $ 9.8 million (1.8 percent) and Taiwan US $ 9.2 million (1.7 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 96.2 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     The largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-June 2010 was a group of animal or vegetable oils and fats of U $ 54.3 million (56.6 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods U $ 21.2 million (22.1 percent); Metal ore and metal scraps U $ 7.6 million (7.9 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 4.4 million (4.6 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 4.2 million (4.4 per cent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 2.7 million (2.9 per cent).
  •     Non-tin exports during the period of January-June 2010 to China reached the largest number of US $ 19.3 million or contributed the most with 20.1 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Vietnam US $ 18.8 million (19.6 percent), Malaysia US $ 18.0 million (18.8 percent), Bangladesh US $ 15.2 million (15.9 percent), India US $ 8.4 million (8.7 percent), Netherlands US $ 3.6 million (3.8 percent) , And Singapore US $ 3.3 million (3.4 percent). The eighth contribution of the country reached 90.3 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

IMPORT PROVINCE BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH OF JUNE 2010 ACHIEVED US $ 9.1 MILLION

  •     The value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in June 2010 reached US $ 9.1 million, an increase of 243.1 percent compared to May 2010 of US $ 2.7 million.
  •     The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period January-June 2010 reached US $ 45.3 million or an increase of 144.1 percent over the same period of the previous year which amounted to US $ 18.6 million. The increase in import value was caused by the increase of non-oil and gas imports by 202.1 percent from US $ 13.7 million to US $ 41.3 million. Conversely oil and gas imports fell by 17.1 percent from US $ 4.9 million to US $ 4.1 million.
  •     In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to June 2010, boiler and machine category (HS 84) contributed the most with US $ 21.3 million (51.5%), followed by sea transport (HS 89) of US $ 8 , 6 million (20.8 percent), Machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 3.7 million (8.9 percent), optical devices (HS 90) of US $ 1.9 million (4.6 percent) Iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.5 million (3.7 percent) and sugar and confectionery (HS 17) of US $ 1.3 million (3.1 percent). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 92.6 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •     The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from China during the period from January to June 2010 reached the largest figure of US $ 26.6 million or 58.6 percent of total imports, followed by Thailand at US $ 8.9 million (19.6 percent), Singapore US $ 5 , 9 million (13.0 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 1.4 million (3.1 percent) and Malaysia amounted to US $ 0.9 million (1.9 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 96.2 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
