Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH MEI 2010 REACHES US $ 117.1 MILLION


  •      The export value from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in May 2010 reached US $ 117.1 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 97.6 million and non tin of US $ 19.5 million.
  •      Tin as the largest export accounted for 84.5 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to May 2010. The main tin export destination was Singapore which reached US $ 374.7 million or 86.8 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 12 , 9 million (3.0 percent), China US $ 11.3 million (2.6 percent), Netherlands US $ 9.8 million (2.3 percent) and Taiwan US $ 8.0 million (1.9 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 96.1 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •      The largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-May 2010 was a group of animal or vegetable oils and fats of U $ 45.1 million (56.5 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods U $ 16.2 million (20.4 percent); Metal ore and metal scraps of U $ 7.0 million (8.8 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 3.4 million (4.3 percent); Coffee, tea and spices of US $ 3.3 million (4.2 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 2.7 million (3.4 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports during the period of January-May 2010 to China reached the largest number of US $ 17.6 million or contributed the most with 22.0 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 16.6 million (20.8 percent), Vietnam US $ 11.6 million (14.2 percent), India US $ 6.7 million (8.4 percent), Netherlands US $ 3.4 million (4.2 percent) ), Canada US $ 2.4 million (3.0 percent) and Singapore US $ 1.8 million (2.3 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 92.0 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

  •      The Value of Import Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in May 2010 reached US $ 2.3 million, down 54.1 percent compared to the previous month which amounted to US $ 4.9 million.
  •      The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period January-May 2010 reached US $ 35.8 million or an increase of 107.6 percent over the same period of the previous year which amounted to US $ 17.3 million. The increase in import value was caused by the increase of non-oil and gas imports by 143.5 percent from US $ 13.2 million to US $ 32.1 million. On the contrary oil and gas imports decreased by 8.2 percent from US $ 4.1 million to US $ 3.7 million.
  •      In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to May 2010, the boiler and machine category (HS 84) contributed the most with US $ 16.9 million (52.5 percent), followed by sea transport (HS 89) of US $ 6 , 9 million (21.6 percent), Machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 2.2 million (6.8 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.4 million (4, 4 percent), sugar and confectionery (HS 17) of US $ 1.3 million (4.0 percent), and rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 1.0 million (3.0 percent). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 92.4 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •      The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from China during the period of January-May 2010 reached the largest number of US $ 19.1 million or 58.3 percent of total imports, followed by Thailand of US $ 7.2 million (20.2 percent), Singapore US $ 5 , 5 million (15.3 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 1.4 million (3.9 percent) and Malaysia amounted to US $ 0.9 million (2.4 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 95.2 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
