Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH AUGUST 2010 REACHES US $ 144,5 MILLION

  •     The export value from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in August 2010 reached US $ 144.5 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 117.7 million and non tin of US $ 26.8 million.
  •     Tin as the largest export includes 83.2 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to August 2010. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 642.0 million or 82.0 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 28 , 9 million (3.7 percent), Netherlands US $ 25.8 million (3.3 percent), Taiwan US $ 17.9 million (2.3 percent) and Japan US $ 15.6 million (2.0 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 93.2 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     The largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-August 2010 was a group of animal or vegetable oils and fats of U $ 77.8 million (49.3 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods U $ 28.7 million (18.2 percent); Metal ore and metal scraps U $ 9.0 million (5.7 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 7.0 million (4.4 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 5.7 million (3.6 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 3.4 million (2.2 percent). The contribution of the six non-tin categories reached 83.4 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     Non-tin exports during the period of January-August 2010 to China reached the largest number of US $ 47.1 million or contributed the most 29.8 percent to total non-tin exports followed by Bangladesh US $ 28.1 million (17.8 percent), Vietnam US $ 24.1 million (15.2 percent), Malaysia US $ 20.0 million (12.6 percent), India US $ 14.2 million (9.0 percent), Singapore US $ 8.5 million (5.4 percent) , And the Netherlands US $ 4.2 million (2.7 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 92.5 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

IMPORT PROVINCE BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH AUGUST 2010 REACHES US $ 2.9 MILLION

  •     The Value of Import Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in August 2010 reached US $ 2.9 million, up 508.1 percent compared to July 2010 which amounted to US $ 0.5 million.
  •     The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period January-August 2010 reached US $ 48.7 million or an increase of 80.0 percent over the same period of the previous year which amounted to US $ 27.0 million. The increase in import value was caused by the increase of non-oil and gas imports by 131.4 percent from US $ 18.8 million to US $ 43.4 million. Conversely oil and gas imports fell by 36.4 percent from US $ 8.3 million to US $ 5.3 million.
  •     The categories of goods that contributed the most to non-oil and gas imports from January to August 2010 were boiler and machine category (HS 84) with contribution of US $ 21.7 million (50.1 percent), followed by sea transport (HS 89) $ 9.3 million (21.5 percent), electric machines / appliances (HS 85) of US $ 3.9 million (9.0 percent), optical devices (HS 90) of US $ 1.9 million (4.3 percent) , Iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 1.7 million (3.8 percent) and sugar and confectionery (HS 17) of US $ 1.3 million (3.0 percent). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 91.7 percent of total non oil and gas imports.
  •     The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from China during the period from January to August 2010 reached the highest figure of US $ 27.5 million or 56.4 percent of total imports, followed by Thailand at US $ 9.7 million (19.8 percent), Singapore US $ 6 , 2 million (12.7 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 1.4 million (2.9 percent) and Malaysia amounted to US $ 0.9 million (1.9 percent). The contribution of the five countries reached 93.8 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
