Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH FEBRUARY 2010 REACHES US $ 102.27 MILLION


  •      The export value from the province of Bangka Belitung Islands in February 2010 reached US $ 102.3 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 78.8 million and non tin of US $ 23.5 million.
  •      Tin exports to Singapore during the period from January to February 2010 reached the largest figure of US $ 143.9 million or 86.9 percent of total tin exports, followed by the Netherlands US $ 5.6 million (3.4 percent), China US $ 4, 2 million (2.6 percent), Malaysia US $ 3.8 million (2.3 percent) and Hong Kong US $ 2.2 million (1.3 percent). The contribution of the five countries reached 96.4 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •      The largest non-tin export commodity of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-February 2010 was a group of animal or vegetable oils or fats of U $ 15.5 million (55.7 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods U $ 6, 0 million (21.7 percent); Metal ore and metal scraps U $ 3.1 million (11.1 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 1.5 million (5.5 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 0.9 million (3.3 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 0.7 million (2.4 percent).
  •      Non-tin exports during the period of January-February 2010 to Malaysia reached the largest number of US $ 11.1 million or contributed the most by 39.7 percent to total non-tin exports followed by China US $ 6.9 million (24.8 percent ), Bangladesh for US $ 5.4 million (19.5 percent), Canada US $ 1.4 million (5.1 percent), South Africa US $ 0.6 million (2.1 percent), Vietnam US $ 0 , 6 million (2.0 percent), Netherlands US $ 0.5 million (2.0 percent) and Japan US $ 0.5 million (1.9 percent). The contribution of the eight countries reached 97.2 percent of the total non-tin exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

  •      The import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-February 2010 reached US $ 121.2 million or an increase of 1,951.0 percent compared to the same period in the previous year which amounted to US $ 5.9 million. The increase in imports was due to an increase in oil and gas imports of 3,991.9 percent from US $ 0.8 million to US $ 32.4 million and non-oil and gas imports increased by 1,634.8 percent from US $ 5.1 million to US $ 88, 8 million.
  •      Viewed from the contribution of total non-oil and gas imports from January to February 2010, the boiler and machine category (HS 84) contributed the most with US $ 9.5 million (56.4 percent), followed by sea transport (HS 89) $ 3.1 million (18.5 percent), sugar and confectionery (HS 17) of US $ 1.3 million (7.6 percent), rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 0, 7 million (4.4 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 0.7 million (4.2 percent) and iron and steel (HS 72) of US $ 0.3 million (1, 9 percent). The contribution of the six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 93.1 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •      The five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January to February 2010 are China, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Australia. The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from China during the period from January to February 2010 reached US $ 10.2 million or 54.1 percent of total imports, followed by Thailand of US $ 4.5 million (23.8 percent), Singapore US $ 1 , 7 million (8.8 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 1.0 million (5.0 percent) and Australia amounted to US $ 0.5 million (2.6 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 94.5 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
