EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
MONTH JANUARY 2012 REACHES US $ 105.4 MILLION

  •     The export value from the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in January 2012 reached US $ 105.4 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 76.2 million and non tin amounting to US $ 29.2 million.
  •     Tin is the largest export, accounting for 72.3 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in January 2012. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 47.5 million or 62.3 percent of total tin exports followed by Malaysia US $ 10.1 million (13.3 percent), Netherlands US $ 4.5 million (5.9 percent), Japan US $ 0.8 million (1.1 percent) and Taiwan US $ 0.4 million (0.5 percent).
  •     The main commodity of the largest non-tin export contributor in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in January 2012 under the Harmonized System (HS) 2-digit code is the oil or animal and vegetable fats of US $ 24.2 million (83 percent), followed by rubber and goods Rubber US $ 3.2 million (11 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 0.9 million (3 percent); Fishery and processed products US $ 0.6 million (2.2 percent); And salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 0.2 million (0.5 percent).

  •     The value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in January 2012 was recorded at US $ 3.8 million, down 88.3 percent from December 2011 which reached US $ 32.83 million.
  •     The total import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in January 2012 reached US $ 3.8 million, up 246.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year which was only US $ 1.11 million. The increase in import value was caused by the increase of non-oil and gas imports by 508 percent from US $ 0.6 million to US $ 3.8 million which indeed contributed to the total import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province completely.
