Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
FEBRUARY MONTH 2012 REACHES US $ 165,5 MILLION

  •     The export value of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in February 2012 reached US $ 165.5 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 154.1 million and non tin of US $ 11.4 million.
  •     Timah is the largest exporter, accounting for 75.2 percent of total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to February 2012. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 154.6 million or 67.1 percent of total tin exports, followed by Netherlands US $ 21.3 million (9.2 percent), Malaysia US $ 8.7 million (3.8 percent), Taiwan US $ 7.1 million (3.1 percent) and Japan US $ 2.6 million (1.1 percent).
  •     The main non-tin export commodity contributed by Bangka Belitung Islands Province during January-February 2012 based on 2-digit Harmonized System (HS) code is a group of oil or animal and vegetable fats of US $ 24.2 million (31.9 percent), followed by group Rubber and rubber goods of US $ 12.1 million (15.9 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 2.5 million (3.3 percent); Metal ores and metal scraps of US $ 0.9 million (1.3 percent); And fishery and processed products US $ 0.4 million (0.5 percent).
  •     Non-tin exports during the period from January to February 2012 to Australia reached the largest figure of US $ 36.5 million, contributing the most with 48.1 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 25 million (33 percent), Vietnam US $ 13.2 Million (17.4 percent), Bangladesh US $ 11.5 million (15.2 percent), China US $ 0.7 million (0.9 percent) and Japan US $ 0.1 million (0.1 percent).

FEBRUARY MONTH 2012 REACHES US $ 5.3 MILLION

  •     The Import Value of the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in February 2012 was recorded at US $ 5.3 million, up 33.8 percent compared to January 2012 of US $ 3.9 million.
  •     The total import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during January-February 2012 reached US $ 9.2 million, up 134.9 percent over the same period last year which was only US $ 3.9 million. The increase in import value was caused by the increase of non-oil and gas imports by 144.4 percent from US $ 3.1 million to US $ 7.6 million with the contribution of import value of Bangka Belitung Islands Province by 82 percent. Meanwhile, oil and gas imports increased by 99.9 percent from US $ 0.8 million to US $ 1.7 million or contributed 18 percent in the imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     During January-February 2012, the largest contribution to total non-oil and gas imports was fertilizer (HS 31) with contribution of US $ 3.9 million (51.1 percent); Followed by rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) of US $ 3.2 million (42.2 percent); Marine vessels and floating buildings (HS 89) of US $ 0.3 million (4.5 percent); Machineries / aircraft mechanics (HS 84) and iron and steel goods (HS 73) were respectively US $ 0.1 million (1.2 and 1.7 percent).
  •     The five largest suppliers of imported goods during the period from January to February 2012 are Malaysia, Netherlands, Vietnam, Singapore and China. Bangka Belitung Islands Province imports from Malaysia during the period January-February 2012 reached the largest figure of US $ 3.1 million, followed by the Netherlands
