Abstract

In May 2016 Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 1.30 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 128.44 after earlier in April 2016 which experienced deflation of 0.66 percent with CPI of 126.79.
Inflation occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by the rise in the index in four groups, namely expense foodstuffs at 2.23 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 1.21 per cent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.05 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services by 3.89 percent. While the group index declines were: clothing by 0.27 percent; and education, recreation and sport 0.04 percent. The health group does not change the index or relatively stable.
The inflation rate in May 2016 calendar year amounted to 0.39 percent and the inflation rate year-on-year (May 2016 to May 2015) of 2.71 percent.
The core components in May 2016 contributed inflation of 0.43. Likewise, volatile components of inflation contributed 0.33 pesen; and components that are regulated by government price inflation of 0.54 percent.
