Abstract

Number of poor (people living below the poverty line) in Bangka Belitung Province in March 2015 period amounted to 74.09 thousand people (5.41%). Compared with the poor people in September 2014 amounted to 67.23 thousand (4.97%), means that the number of poor increase of 6.86 thousand or percentage increased by 0.44 percent compared to September 2014 period.
During the period September 2014 - March 2015, the number of poor people in rural areas increased by 7.00 thousand, while in urban areas decreased by as much as 0.14 thousand people.
During September 2014 - March 2015 poverty line rose 4.02 percent from Rp469.814, - per capita per month in September 2014 to Rp488.701, - per capita per month in March 2015.
In March 2015 the role of urban food poverty line by 69.44 percent or Rp330.178, - per capita per month and rural areas amounted to 74.90 percent or Rp375.657, - per capita per month.
In the period September 2014 - March 2015 Poverty Depth Index showing an upward trend. Poverty depth index rose from 0.601 in September 2014 to 0.671 in March 2015. The increase in the value of this index indicates that the average expenditure of the poor in 2015 tends to stay away from the poverty line compared to the period of September 2014. Poverty Severity Index also increased compared with the period September namely from 0,115 in 2014 into 0,137 in the period March 2015. This figure indicates that the unevenness of the average expenditure of poor people increased from September 2014 until March 2015.
