Abstract

In March 2023, the level of income inequality for the population of the Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.245. This figure decreased by 0.010 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2022 which was 0.255 but increased by 0.009 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.236.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2023 was recorded at 0.265, an increase compared to the September 2022 Gini Ratio of 0.263 and also an increase compared to the March 2022 Gini Ratio of 0.248.
The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2023 was recorded at 0.202, down compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2022 which was 0.222 and also down compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.206.
Based on the World Bank's inequality measure, the distribution of spending in the bottom 40 percent group for the March 2023 period is 25.56 percent. This means that population spending in March 2023 is in the category of low levels of inequality.
