Abstract

In May 2022 the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung experienced inflation of 1.35 percent with a CPI of 113.42. The May 2022 calendar year inflation rate is 4.54 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2022 to May 2021) is 6.97 percent.
The two CPI monitoring cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands province also experienced inflation, namely Pangkalpinang by 0.85 percent with a CPI of 112.00 and Tanjungpandan City by 2.24 percent with a CPI of 116.00.
This month's inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in indexes in 8 expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 3.64 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.03 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.22 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.22 percent; health group by 0.14 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 1.74 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.69 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.12 percent. The transportation group as well as the information, communication and financial services group were the subgroups that experienced deflation, namely 0.36 percent and 0.18 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the education group did not experience a change in the index.
The main contribution to inflation from the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung in April 2022 was mainly contributed by krisi fish, selar fish, and shallots. Meanwhile, the restraining rate of inflation was caused by the decline in commodity prices for air transportation, cayenne pepper, and apples.
