Abstract

    Pangkalpinang City, in February 2021 deflation of 0.33 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 104.30. Of the 90 CPI cities, 56 experienced inflation and 34 cities experienced deflation.
  • Deflation was caused by a decrease in prices as indicated by a fall in the index in several expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.80 percent and the personal care and other services group by 0.21 percent. While the groups that experienced inflation were the clothing and footwear group by 0.09 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuels group of 0.07 percent; equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group by 0.26 percent; the health group by 0.28 percent; the transportation group of 0.80 percent; the information, communication and financial services group of 0.10 percent; the education group of 1.67 percent; also the food and beverage / restaurant supply group of 0.72 percent. Meanwhile, the index for recreation, sports and culture did not change.
  • The calendar year February 2021 experienced inflation of 0.83 percent and year on year (February 2021 to February 2020) also inflation of 0.94 percent.
