Abstract

EXPORT PROVINCE OF BANGKA BELITUNG ISLANDS
SEPTEMBER 2010 MONTH ACHIEVED US $ 124.2 MILLION

  •     The export value from the province of Bangka Belitung Islands in September 2010 reached US $ 124.2 million (based on Free On Board price, FOB), with tin exports of US $ 116.7 million and non tin of US $ 7.5 million.
  •     Tin as the largest export accounted for 82.7 percent of the total exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period from January to September 2010. The main tin export destination is Singapore which reached US $ 720.3 million or 80.0 percent of total tin exports, followed by Malaysia US $ 36 , 3 million (4.0 percent), Netherlands US $ 34.1 million (3.8 percent), Taiwan US $ 24.3 million (2.7 percent) and Japan US $ 19.4 million (2.2 percent). The contribution of the five countries reached 92.7 percent of the total tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     The largest non-tin export commodities of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January-September 2010 were oil and animal fats and vegetables of U $ 81.1 million (43.1 percent), followed by rubber and rubber goods U $ 31.4 million (16.7 percent); Metal ore and metal scraps U $ 9.0 million (4.8 percent); Coffee, tea and spices US $ 8.4 million (4.5 percent); Fishery products and processed U $ 6.0 million (3.2 percent) and salt, sulfur, soil and stones US $ 3.4 million (1.8 percent). The contribution of the six non-tin categories reached 74.0 percent of total non-tin exports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
  •     Non-tin exports during the period of January-September 2010 to China reached the largest amount of US $ 72.5 million or contributed the most by 38.5 percent of total non-tin exports, followed by Bangladesh US $ 28.1 million (14.9 percent), Vietnam US $ 24.4 million (13.0 percent), Malaysia US $ 23.4 million (12.4 percent), India US $ 14.2 million (7.6 percent), Singapore US $ 9.1 million (4.9 percent) , And the Netherlands US $ 4.5 million (2.4 percent). The country's eighth contribution reached 93.6 percent of total non-tin exports of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

  •     The Value of Import Province of Bangka Belitung Islands in September 2010 reached US $ 3.6 million or decreased 52.9 percent compared to August 2010 which amounted to US $ 7.7 million.
  •     The cumulative value of imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the period of January to September 2010 reached US $ 57.1 million or an increase of 55.7 percent over the same period of the previous year which amounted to US $ 36.7 million. The increase in import value was caused by the increase of non-oil and gas imports by 92.4 percent from US $ 25.8 million to US $ 49.7 million. Conversely oil and gas imports fell by 31.9 percent from US $ 10.8 million to US $ 7.4 million.
  •     The categories of goods that contribute the most to non-oil and gas imports from January to September 2010 are boiler and machine category (HS 84) with contribution of US $ 23.0 million (46.2 percent), followed by sea transport (HS 89) $ 11.3 million (22.7 percent), machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 4.4 million (8.8 percent), iron and steel goods (HS 73) of US $ 2.1 million (4 , 3 percent), optical devices (HS 90) of US $ 1.9 million (3.8 percent) and sugar and confectionery (HS 17) of US $ 1.3 million (2.6 percent). The contribution of these six categories of non-oil and gas goods reached 88.4 percent of total non-oil and gas imports.
  •     The imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province from China during the period of January to September 2010 reached the largest figure of US $ 28.8 million or 50.5 percent of total imports, followed by Thailand at US $ 11.7 million (20.5 percent), Singapore US $ 8 , 1 million (14.1 percent), Vietnam amounted to US $ 3.4 million (5.9 percent) and Malaysia amounted to US $ 1.3 million (2.3 percent). The contribution of these five countries reached 93.3 percent of the total imports of Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
