Tourism development

The number of guests staying at the five-star hotel in Bangka Belitung Province in August 2015, there were 24,974 people. This number increased by 9.94 percent compared to the previous month the number of guests who only amounted to 22 716 persons (Table 1). Foreign guests recorded increased by 28 people (10.49 percent) and domestic guests as many as 2,230 people (9.93 percent).
Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotel in Bangka Belitung Province in August 2015 amounted to 41.15 percent (Table 2), up 4.59 points compared to the value of TPK in July 2015 that only amounted to 36.56 percent.
TPK highest five-star hotel by district / city in August 2015 was in Central Bangka regency (52.56 percent), followed Pangkalpinang (44.25 percent) and Belitung (44.05 percent). While TPK Bangka only 16.33 percent.

In August 2015, the average length of stay of the total at the five-star hotel for 1.76 days, decreased when compared to the previous month. During the month of August, the average length of stay (2.83 days) over a length of 1.09 days compared to Indonesia (1.74 days).

Transportation development

The number of inter-island passenger sea transport departing from Bangka Belitung Islands in August 2015, there were 13.87 thousand, down 42.90 percent over the previous month which stood at 24.28 thousand people. When compared with the same period in the previous year (January-August 2014), the number of passengers fell by 43.99 percent.
The number of inter-island sea passenger transport which came in Bangka Belitung Islands in August 2015, there were 15.79 thousand, a decrease of 26.89 percent compared to 21.60 thousand in July 2015. When compared to the same period last year, the the flow of incoming passengers also decreased by 31.89 percent.
The volume of goods loaded at the port in August 2015 reached 381.66 thousand tons, down by 39.95 percent if compared to the previous month to reach 635.59 thousand tons. When compared with the same period the previous year increased by 16.89 percent.
The volume of goods unloaded during the month of August 2015 amounted to 156.69 thousand tons, up 35.94 percent compared to the previous month were only 115.27 thousand tons. When compared with the same period the previous year (January to August 2014) a decline of 20.33 percent.
The number of air passengers departing from Bangka Belitung Islands in August 2015 rose 8.05 percent to 121.77 thousand from the previous just as much as 112.70 thousand people.
The number of passengers who come to Bangka Belitung using air transport in August 2015 amounted to 111.02 thousand passengers, an increase of 9.04 percent compared to the previous month were only 101.82 thousand people.
