Abstract

On August 2015 Pangkalpinang City experienced inflation of 0.58 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 122.35 after earlier in July 2014 experienced a higher inflation ie 3.18 percent with CPI of 121.65.
Inflation occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by the rise in the index in five groups namely foodstuffs spending by 2.08 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 1.00 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.22 percent; health group by 1.23 percent; as well as education, recreation and sport 4.04 percent. While the expenditure deflation is the clothing group by 0.40 percent and the transportation, communication and financial services 3.22 percent.
The inflation rate in August 2015 calendar year is inflation of 3.46 percent and the inflation rate year-on-year (August 2015 to August 2014) of 7.93 percent.
The core components in August 2015 contributed an inflation of 1.08 percent. While the other two components namely deflation volatile components of 0.02 percent; as well as components whose price is set by the government amounted to 0.48 percent.
